Tennis Group Picks Manassas For New HQ: Report

MANASSAS, VA — A branch of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) announced plans this week to move its headquarters from Reston to the Manassas area, according to a media report. The 105,000-square-foot facility, to be built by 2023, will include a complex to host tournaments and special events year-round, the Washington Business Journal reported.

The USTA’s Mid-Atlantic Section will build the new headquarters on a portion of a 46-acre parcel off of Freedom Center Boulevard, near the George Mason University Science and Technology Campus, the Business Journal reported. The group plans to close on the purchase of the land for $2.25 million.

The $15 million tennis complex will include "indoor and outdoor tennis courts, pavilions, locker rooms, concessions and other amenities," the business Journal said.

The head of the Mid-Atlantic Branch said the new project will bring up to 40 jobs and about $12 million in annual economic activity to Prince William County.
